I dont quite grasp the purpose run this command vicfg-cfgbackup although i know it is backing up your ESXi configuration but what is it for anyway?
What are they backing up?
In what such scenario this backup will really useful?
What i understood you still need to have network vmkernel is up(you have to manually set it in any case someway your upgrade is a failure-maybe) before you could able to run restore command otherwise this is just shame as it doesnt useful at all.
In fact, if anything happens with the upgrade, does it able to salvage the VMs resided in the host?
Can someone please enlighten me with this?
