ESXi SSH access not working?

Hi all,

I'm trying to access a ESXi host via SSH using putty and when I enter the (proper) admin user and password I get "Access Denied" as a response. SSH is enabled in dcui as is the Tech Support feature. Users in the Client are set up properly as well. Is there some kind of firewall issue, or is SSH not an active feature in ESXi's free version?
