Running ESXI 5.5.0 Build 3717267.

Guest is running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP4.

Guest is running open-vm-tools.

Guest is continuously creating files in directory: /var/lib/vmware-caf/pme/data/output/responses and eventually fills up the partition.

Sample file name: /var/lib/vmware-caf/pme/data/output/responses/7F7857C7-2D02-5833-0A90-0A0A11D80600_errorResponse.xml

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><caf:errorResponse xmlns:caf="http://schemas.vmware.com/caf/schema/fx" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://schemas.vmware.com/caf/schema/fxhttp://10.25.57.32/caf-downloads/schema/fx/Response.xsd" clientId="00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000" requestId="00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000" errorMessage="[PathNotFoundException] FileSystemUtils::itemsInDirectory() Directory does not exist: /var/lib/vmware-caf/pme/data/input/providerReg"><responseHeader version="1.0" createdDateTime="2016-11-21T17:21:06Z" sequenceNumber="0" isFinalResponse="true" sessionId="00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000"/></caf:errorResponse>

What is causing this and how do I make it stop?

thanks
