I have been having issue installing dell OpenManage on a ESXi 4.0 host. Some details about the host include: VMware ESXi 4.0.0 Update 2 build-332073. First I would like to know if anyone has been successful doing this and what are the steps? I also think I am confused on where the actual download is for OMA for this particular ESXi version.I did try installing a few version but I ended up getting a few different errors, some that I can remember include:
- "please wait patch installation is in progress ... there was an error setting up esxi installation destinationbootbank preparation failed: /sbin/bootbankstage-install.sh -v prep returned (1)"
- Error (28) on file : [Errno 28] No space left on device"
Some things I tried:
- Make sure CIMOEMProvidersEnabled is set to 1
- tried downloading different versions from Dell. (see below links)
- tried installing from the remote CLI using vihostupdate.pl --server <esxhost> --username root -i -b c:\oem-dell-openmanage-esxi_6.1-0000.zip
- tried installing from SSH using the esxupdate --bundle OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-6.3.0-2075.VIB-ESX41i_A00.8.zip update
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced, I am pulling my hair out here on this one.
